4am Vinyl Volume 1 : Utah Desert Country

I really wanted this first release to be special and it exceeded all my expectations. I was able to get two of my favorite local musicians to be on the first record. I’ve known Daniel Young for over 20 years and have enjoyed many of his projects over the years. He’s recorded some new songs special just for this release, that I think you are going to love. I met Timmy the Teeth at a Tom Petty tribute concert and have been following him ever since. His live performances are a delight. He’s recorded a new album and is giving us a sneak peak of three of the songs for this release. For the artwork I really wanted something that captured our Utah theme. Elizabeth Walsh creates some truly stunning landscapes. I chose this piece to be our cover because I love our Wasatch mountains and I love the honeycomb beehive pattern in the background. Elizabeth let both Daniel and Timmy choose a piece of hers that they wanted for their center labels. I’m really excited about how this first album turned out and I can’t wait for you guys to hear it.

Meet the Artists

Daniel Young

Daniel Young is a versatile singer-songwriter, guitarist, drummer, sound engineer, and producer from Salt Lake City. With over two decades of experience in recording, writing, and performing, Daniel's dedication to his craft runs deep. His music reflects a lifelong commitment to the art, capturing both his technical skill and emotional depth.

On Leave It Out to Dry, his soul-searching and often anguished fourth album, Daniel Young repeatedly circles around a question: Who knows? Through a heady mix of psych-tinged cowboy laments, Dead-inspired rambles, and sagebrush-fueled introspection, this album marks Young's most raw and expansive journey yet. The medium perfectly matches the message—Young isn't just confronting the great beyond; his music is becoming it. As the man once said, when you stare into the abyss, it sometimes stares back. Or, as Young seems to acknowledge, you sing to it—and it sings back.

Timmy the Teeth

Timmy the Teeth is a unique voice in Americana music, blending heartfelt storytelling with a touch of whimsical charm. Hailing from the small-town streets of Utah, Timmy channels an old-soul sensibility through his rustic melodies and poetic lyrics. Drawing inspiration from the raw authenticity of life's ups and downs, his music resonates with themes of love, heartbreak, and self-discovery, all delivered with a signature wit and authenticity.

Timmy the Teeth's unmistakable sound is a mix of vintage country twang, folksy intimacy, and a modern indie spirit. Whether performing solo or alongside his band, his performances create a warm, nostalgic atmosphere that feels like home. With a string of critically-acclaimed albums and live shows that charm audiences, Timmy continues to craft songs that linger in the heart, making him a rising and unforgettable talent in the Americana scene. His songs for this album were recorded in Joshua Tree with Patrick Boyer and Nathan Sabatino and mixed and mastered by Josh Snider at Back Porch Audio.
